Sweatpants and shorts: 310, 350, 425 or 460 g/m²

Essential Sweatpants at 310 g/m², Subway Sweats at 460, men’s shorts at 425 and women’s at 350 — what each weight is for, with sizes and prices.

Bottoms are where fabric weight matters most: it decides whether they hold a line or collapse at the knee by lunchtime. We make them in four weights.

Subway Sweats

The heaviest fabric we make anything from, at 460 g/m². Thick hand with a slight stretch, straight leg. These are winter sweatpants — they keep their shape and they keep you warm.

Essential Sweatpants

At 310 g/m² they are the everyday pair: lighter, straight through the leg, and the bottom half of the Set. Note the size scale runs XS–L; check the laid-flat length and waist in the size guide rather than assuming your hoodie size.

Shorts

Men’s Essential Shorts are cut from a 425 g/m² fleece — heavy for a short, which is the point; they drape rather than flap. Women’s Essential Shorts are 350 g/m², in six colors, with a drawstring waist.

Want top and bottom together? The Set is a hoodie and sweatpant in matching fleece for $125.
