Washing heavyweight fleece
The care label for Cozy® fleece, and the reason behind each line: 30°C gentle, no bleach, tumble low, iron low away from the print, no dry clean.
Heavy fleece lasts for years if you wash it like fleece and not like a gym towel. This is the label, line by line.
The label
- Machine wash cold (30°C / 86°F), gentle cycle. Cool water and a slow spin keep the loft in the fleece and the color where it is.
- Do not bleach. Bleach strips the dye and weakens the cotton.
- Tumble dry low. Heat is what shrinks and hardens fleece; low heat, or air drying, keeps the hand soft.
- Iron at low temperature, and never on the print. The mark is applied to the surface; a hot iron will lift it.
- Do not dry clean. Solvents are for suits.
Two habits that help
Turn it inside out before it goes in — the outside face rubs less, and the print is protected. And wash it less than you think: fleece doesn’t need a cycle after every wear. Air it.
Variation between runs
Because we make in small batches, two hoodies from different runs can differ slightly in shade or hand. Temperature and materials during production cause it; we minimise it, and we won’t call it a fault. If something is actually wrong, contact us — thirty days, unworn, no argument.
Care details for each piece are on its product page under Care. Browse men’s and women’s.
